An A3 printer scanner is also known as an all in one machine with a printer and scanner included. Many companies and even home businesses use these as a means of taking up less space and still getting the use of both machines. Here are a few different jobs of A3 printer scanner machines.

The basic function of all A3 units is printing in the A3 size. This size is generally 17 inches by 11 inches. Many are able to print legal size which includes 14 inches by 11 inches as well as smaller sizes. Some of these units are even able to complete jobs on other types of media such as stickers, index cards and envelopes.

Scanning is one of the other functions, and this includes media in sizes up to 17 by 11 inches. Some use certain software on the computer they are hooked to in order to properly function. The document is laid down on the face and then the lid is closed. Afterwards your document is saved on the computer's hard drive.

A light runs beneath the scanner bed where the document lays, and this starts the transfer. When complete, you are prompted to opt for a file type to save the media under. When saved, you are able to manipulate the media or even email it from the saved file on the computer.

These are the most basic of the functions, as some come with others such as fax capabilities while others do not need any type of computer to operate. Some models will simply take an external USB drive to load the images onto or to print from, and others will hook directly up to an external hard drive.

The A3 printer scanner model options are not limited, nor are the brands. Some of the popular brands are affordable and are recommended for use at home. Whether being used for business or home work, they are a fantastic deal for the money invested.
